Discovering Seongsu
Seongsu-dong is often called Seoul's Brooklyn, and it's genuinely one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city. Old industrial buildings sit next to whatever's newest and most creative right now, and somehow that combination still works. It's tucked away from the center of the city, and it's the kind of place where the best finds are still small local businesses even with all the pop-ups from bigger brands moving in.

Walking through Seongsu's back streets, you get cafes and boutiques stacked one after another, each with its own take on the neighborhood's whole creative-industrial thing going on. And when you get hungry, there's real range, fusion spots next to old-school Korean places, depending on what you're in the mood for.

One spot I keep coming back to is Lowkey, a small café that's become one of my regulars in the neighborhood. The coffee is good, the space is quiet in the way you want a café to be quiet, and it's an easy place to sit for a while.
Whenever I'm in Seongsu, I want to look put-together without looking like I tried too hard, chic but still comfortable enough to actually walk around in all day. I put together a few summer pieces from Sézane for exactly that: the white shirt, which is the kind of piece you can wear a hundred ways and never get tired of, flat sandals for all the walking, and a straw bag, which has just become a permanent fixture of my summer wardrobe at this point.

If you're ever in Seoul, make time for Seongsu-dong. It's the neighborhood I keep going back to myself, and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon.
